About The Turing Africa AI Center
The Turing Africa AI Center is a pan-African centre of excellence for the entire AI ecosystem. We are named in honour of Alan Turing — whose work laid the foundations of computing, artificial intelligence, and code-breaking — and whose commitment to rigour, ethics, and public service inspires everything we do.
We are not just a training company, not just a software builder, and not just a governance consultancy. We are the integrated AI partner for African organisations — covering the full lifecycle from Learn to Build to Govern.
Our Role as a Civil Society Organisation
The Turing Africa AI Center operates as a civil society organisation committed to the public good. Beyond our commercial services, we:
- Conduct independent research on AI's societal impact
- Advocate for fair, transparent, and accountable AI systems
- Convene multi-stakeholder dialogues involving government, industry, academia, and the public
- Educate citizens about their rights when interacting with AI systems
- Monitor AI deployment in Ghana and hold deployers to high standards of responsibility
- Develop national-level initiatives such as the Ghana National AI Index to strengthen the evidence base for AI policy
We believe that AI must serve all Africans — and that civil society has a critical role to play in ensuring this happens.
Our Founder
Henry Kyeremateng-Boateng
Founder & Director
ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer
Henry Kyeremateng-Boateng is a researcher in AI ethics and governance whose work focuses on algorithmic fairness in African digital credit systems. He is trained in AI Ethics Operationalisation (Alan Turing Institute), Generative AI and Society (University of Michigan), and is an ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer. With over 20 years of experience across Ghana, South Africa, and the UK — including roles at Barclays, Enterprise Life, and Sanlam.
He is a curated reviewer of AI outputs for Alignerr and 10x Hire. He is the Africa partner for Shanghai Tendata AI and Singapore-based Constructor Tech. He supports organisations to adopt AI safely through governance frameworks, staff training, and risk management. He is also a former lecturer at Garden City University College and a licensed FIFA and English FA football agent.
